Finding a Path

Sometimes, taking a step forward happens without knowing why or where it leads. I've done it many times out of desperation, boredom and adventure. Creating the website was one such step, though it took a while to come to fruition. Now that Shoot To Still exists, I've been contemplating how to use it. I generally try to use my powers for good and I think I may have found a way that Shoot To Still can do some good as well. Tonight was the start of the first real venture.

I'm going to be leveraging Shoot To Still as a type of non-profit supporting other non-profits. Going forward, free framed prints will be offered for non-profits to use in their fundraising auctions, as interior decor, or in any other beneficial way. A couple of weeks ago, I had a framed black and white print known as "Regrowth” accepted by The Center For Wildlife’s 2nd Annual Charity Art Show. Tonight was opening night of the show which runs through March 16th. The photo was taken in the Alewive Preserve of Kennebunk, ME in January of 2024. After the huge, devastating Maine fires of 1947, this forest, along with many others, was reseeded. The resulting rows of pines with the sticky snow is quite striking. I’ve been back there many times because the view is so compelling.

I’ve had a bit of a head start in supporting my local non-profits in both Maine and Massachusetts. I have been lucky enough to have photos published in books and used in social media as well as other publications. I have also documented multiple events through photos.

All this to say, if you know of an organization that could benefit from photos being taken or needs some artwork, please let me know or have them get in touch with me.
